Short and Sweet: Last week I was on standby and got a duty to go to Beirut. It was a new destination for me and obviously as there are some tensions at the moment, it wasn’t really the time to go out or explore. However, standby is like a box of chocolates and you never know what you are going to get but despite pre-conceptions of the past, I was surprised on how beautiful it was in the surrounding areas and a relaxing couple of days with a festive feel was had. Plus I made friends with the local cat so I was happy about that.
